Many in-house counsel work in companies that have subsidiaries and/or do business in multiple jurisdictions. While it is still generally accepted in Singapore that legal advice rendered by in-house counsel is likely to be protected by legal professional privilege, this is not necessarily the case in all jurisdictions. This talk will consider the scope and extent of protection afforded by legal professional privilege to in-house counsel communication in Singapore and from a cross-border perspective. It will also consider measures that may be taken by in-house counsel to ensure the maintenance of privilege
