SCCA AGM Names New Board, Re-elects President

The Singapore Corporate Counsel Association (SCCA) has announced its new board for the 2025 to 2028 term as it continues to shape the in-house legal profession in Singapore and across the Asia-Pacific.

At the SCCA’s annual general meeting on 6 August, Daniel Choo, general counsel for APAC at Bruker, was unanimously re-elected as president. A long-time contributor to the SCCA, Choo has been instrumental in growing the APAC Legal Congress, expanding the association’s regional presence and building partnerships across Asia.

Choo joined the SCCA in 2013 and was elected co-president in 2022. Joining Choo are re-elected vice presidents Wan Kwong Weng, group general counsel at Mapletree Investments, and Wong Yi, general counsel at Lum Chang Holdings; re-elected secretary Rachel Yee, regional general counsel at Vantage Data Centres; treasurer Edmund Koh, legal counsel at SWIFT; and member Sim Ting, general counsel at GenZero.

The board will steer SCCA’s three key strategic priorities:

  1. strengthening regional collaboration through joint training programmes and strategic partnerships;

  2. deepening member engagement via high-impact events such as the legal counsel summit and the chief legal officer awards; and

  3. expanding the SCCA Academy, with a focus on practical, cross-functional legal training aligned with the association’s competency framework.

The in-house community is uniquely placed to drive change across industries. SCCA’s role is to support that transformation through community, capability and collaboration,” said Choo.
