The Singapore Corporate Counsel Association (SCCA) has strengthened its regional footprint through partnerships with Korea’s In-House Counsel Forum (IHCF) and the Legal Management Council of the Philippines (LMCP).
The agreements, formalised through memoranda of understanding, will allow SCCA members to access IHCF’s and LMCP’s networks, resources and platforms for cross-border engagement and knowledge sharing.
The Korean association, IHCF, established in 1999, represents more than 2,600 in-house lawyers across 16 jurisdictions. “Through our partnership with the SCCA, we will support our members in accessing opportunities across the Asia-Pacific region and strengthening their global competitiveness,” IHCF president Won Young Jung said.
Meanwhile, LMCP, founded 61 years ago, is Asia’s oldest in-house counsel organisation.
LMCP president Alicia Juliet Salita described cross-border co-operation as fundamental for the in-house profession. “As the legal landscape continues to evolve at an unprecedented pace, cross-border co-operation is no longer optional; it is essential,” she said.
SCCA president Daniel Choo said the MOUs reflect efforts to build “a more connected and collaborative in-house legal community across the Asia-Pacific”.
