Singapore Lawyers Can Now Get AI Training as 2,000 Tech Opportunities Open

Lawyers will learn to apply AI to research, drafting and case analysis while in-house teams focus on contracts and doc management.

Lawyers and in-house counsel in Singapore will receive practical AI training through two new national programmes.

The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), Singapore Academy of Law (SAL) and Singapore Corporate Counsel Association (SCCA) launched AIxLegal under the National AI Impact Programme.

AIxLegal by SAL will teach practising lawyers to use AI for research, drafting and case analysis. It will later expand into criminal and family law.

AIxLegal by SCCA targets in-house counsel and allied legal professionals, with a focus on contract and document management. 

Both programmes will combine instruction with practical exercises, practitioner-led sessions and peer learning over the next three years.

IMDA is also expanding its TechSkills Accelerator initiative with more than 20 companies, including Accenture, Microsoft, NCS and NTUC LearningHub.

The partnerships will offer almost 2,000 place-and-train opportunities for fresh graduates and mid-career professionals in AI, cybersecurity, data and software.

Participants will be hired before completing instructor-led and on-the-job training. They will also receive industry mentorship and work towards recognised certifications.

Minister for Digital Development and Information Josephine Teo announced the initiatives at the Singapore Computer Society Tech3 Forum 2026.
