SCCA and The College of Law (Australia) Sign MOU to Advance Professional Development of In-House Counsel
Singapore, 5 August 2026 – The Singapore Corporate Counsel Association (SCCA) and The College of Law (Australia) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), marking the beginning of a strategic partnership to strengthen the professional development of in-house counsel across the Asia-Pacific region.
The MOU was signed by Rachel Yee, Secretary of SCCA, and Joseph Catanzariti, Chairman of The College of Law (Australia).
Drawing on the combined expertise and networks of both organisations, the partnership will connect in-house counsel with knowledge, perspectives and professional development opportunities from across Singapore, Australia and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
The collaboration will address Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and other emerging issues shaping the role of in-house counsel, while creating greater opportunities for cross-border learning, regional knowledge exchange and professional connections.
SCCA In-House Practice Management Series Marks First Initiative
As the first initiative under the partnership, SCCA Academy and The College of Law (Australia) have launched the SCCA In-House Practice Management Series, a four-part programme running from 5 August to 14 October.
Tailored for legal professionals at different stages of their in-house careers, the series explores the evolving demands of modern in-house practice across four key areas: the role of in-house counsel, multidisciplinary project management, dispute prevention and management, and legal team leadership.
Participants will hear directly from senior in-house counsel and business leaders across the region, gaining practical insights and perspectives grounded in real-world experience. Speakers include Dr Alisha Jung, Associate Medical Director at MSD Australia & New Zealand; Marco Chung, Group Head of Legal and Managing Director at CITIC CLSA; and Penny Koo, General Counsel & Company Secretary at AIA Singapore Private Limited, among others.
