SCCA Expands Regional Engagement with Inaugural Event in Tokyo

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SCCA Expands Regional Engagement with Inaugural Event in Tokyo
SINGAPORE, 19 August 2026 – The Singapore Corporate Counsel Association (SCCA) will host its inaugural event in Tokyo on 15 September 2026, marking a significant step in expanding the regional engagement of Singapore’s national association of in-house counsel.
Jointly organised with Epiq and supported by the Japan In-house Counsel Network (JICN), the event, “Preparing for Cross-Border Disputes and Internal Investigations Through AI and Technology”, will bring together in-house counsel and professionals across compliance, internal audit and risk management in Japan to examine practical approaches to navigating increasingly complex cross-border disputes and internal investigations.
Against the backdrop of today’s interconnected business environment, the session will explore how in-house legal and compliance teams can strengthen data management practices, effectively preserve relevant data when issues arise, and leverage AI and technology to conduct investigations and document reviews more efficiently.
The programme will feature educational sessions and a panel discussion bringing together experienced in-house practitioners and industry experts, including Toshiyuki Komaki, Legal Counsel, Legal/IP Department, YKK Corporation; Daryl Osuch, Unit Manager, Strategic Legal Unit, Legal and Secretariat Division, JERA Co. Inc.; Kyle Reykalin, Legal Affairs Department, Legal Affairs Group, Daiichi Sankyo Co. Ltd.; Nakajima Daisuke, Director, Legal Solution, Epiq; and Kosuke Hayakawa, Senior Director, Legal Solution, Epiq.
The programme will be conducted in Japanese and will conclude with a networking reception, providing participants with an opportunity to exchange perspectives and build meaningful connections with fellow professionals from Japan’s corporate counsel community.
Bryan Yeo, Chief Executive Officer of SCCA, said:
“Bringing SCCA to Tokyo for the first time marks an exciting milestone for our Association. In an increasingly interconnected business environment, in-house counsel benefit greatly from opportunities to connect across borders, exchange experiences and learn from the perspectives of their peers in different markets.
We are grateful to Epiq for co-organising this event with us, and to JICN for its support. Together, we look forward to engaging with Japan’s in-house legal community and creating a platform for practical dialogue, shared learning and meaningful connections. Through this inaugural event, we hope to deepen ties between the in-house legal communities in Singapore and Japan, while fostering greater collaboration across the region.”
As SCCA’s inaugural event in Tokyo, the event represents an important step in the Association’s growing regional engagement and its commitment to fostering stronger connections among in-house counsel beyond Singapore. Through this initiative, SCCA aims to create a platform for knowledge exchange, shared learning and meaningful professional connections across borders, while empowering in-house legal teams to tackle challenges in the future.
