Pro-Bono

SCCA is proud to invite all in-house counsels to be part of its pro bono initiatives, ranging from signing up to SCCA’s Pro Bono Pledge  to our PIER Counsel Project

SCCA Pro Bono Committee aims to encourage the pro bono spirit within the in-house community and to find and publicise pro bono opportunities for in-house counsels. If you would like to publicise any pro bono opportunities for in-house counsels, to collaborate on any potential pro bono opportunities, or to be on our volunteer mailing list, please reach out to us from here

SCCA Legal Eagle Challenge

The SCCA Legal Eagle Challenge is the yearly flagship event conducted by the SCCA ProBono chapter. This competition for law students in Singapore provides a unique opportunity to experience the role of an in-house counsel by simulating the work done by in-house counsels every day. Participants will be tasked with providing advice on legal challenges arising from employees’ usage of social media, and the implementation of a social media policy. The event spans over a couple of months and offers multiple workshops and learning opportunities for students along the way. It is designed to give participants a glimpse into the real-world challenges faced by in-house legal professionals and provides an exciting and educational experience for all participants.

PIER - A Social Initiative

The Singapore Corporate Counsel Association Limited (“SCCA”), in collaboration with NOVA8, is pleased to announce a new social initiative, “PIER”. The programme aims to empower young or transitioning lawyers (PIER Counsel) to provide legal support services to Participating Organisations on a heavily subsidised basis. PIER Counsel with little or no prior relevant experience may be supported by PIER Mentors, comprised of experienced counsel with in-house or private practice experience.
